SMOKING BAN

• Ban smoking in restaurants and all businesses.
• Corvallis may be too restrictive because people may come to Albany to drink, then drive home--a safety hazard. However 57% voted to keep present regulation.
• If state wide, would give more consideration to a total ban.
• Local support ban in all restaurants.
• When in California, it was a pleasure to go to a restaurant and not smell smoke.
• Have quit going to restaurants in Albany and now going to Corvallis.
• Health concerns for employee of business allowing smoking. Most employees are single parents with little skills.
• Council can hold several hearings for public input then make an appropriate ordinance.
